Brown flatworms get their food into their body through the mouth in the middle section of their under-body. A little tube shoots out from the middle of their body to the food and sucks it in to the pharynx. Unlike humans Planaria only have one way to get their food out of their system. After the food is sent to and through the intestine, the food is broken down. It is distributed out to all parts of the worm, where the nutrients are needed for growth. Then, to finally release the food, the unused nutrients and waste is let out through the mouth again.
